Kathy Varie is a multi-media artist, an accomplished children's book illustrator, specialty sign painter and portrait artist.

Kathy's passion for art began as early as she can remember - drawing and painting at the 5-acre ranch where she grew up in Granada Hills, California

Her career as a sign painter kept  her hands in paint and her being outside.

Once she discovered watercolours ,
she began creating portraits that brought the spirit of the subject to life on paper.  Her goal is to reach those who view her paintings through their heart.

Kathy's love for her sons, Jesse and Matt, as well as her beautiful granddaughter, Maya, and beloved dog Buddy shines through in her illustrations.  Her skill with capturing the essense of both people and animals is evident in her amazing watercolor commissions and beautiful illustrations for children's picture books.


Specialty Sign Painting is still an active art for Kathy as well as illustrating for children's books,  face painting, and her newest ventures, Abstract Art (see acrylics gallery) and Cosmic Art

Kathy Varie's art has been featured in numerous art shows in Los Angeles and Ventura counties. 

Kathy currently resides among the oak-studded trails and hillsides of Southern California's  Agoura Hills
